in 1992 when she was just graduating from high school, Amanda Bossard started her education in marine biology at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage, Alaska. Bossard started her commercial fishing career in 1999, when she began working on the vessel F/V Sunset. This 65' schooner converted to the role of a salmon tender is owned by Murat Aritan. Aritan has been involved in commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard married Aritan in 1999 and the pair have come together in fighting for their company. Both are advocates of conserving renewable and sustainable sources of seafood. In 2007, now a mother of two children Bella age three and Andre 1 Bossard then returning to living in Philadelphia, opened a direct market wholesale distributor of seafood called Otolith.
